Epsilon Barossa Valley Shiraz 2004

 Robert Parker

“The 2004 Shiraz Epsilon (all from the Greenock Creek area) is a big, layered textbook Shiraz possessing a dense ruby/purple color as well as loads of creme de cassis, peppery blackberry fruit, and hints of road tar and earth. Although not complex, it is a savory, full-throttle Shiraz to enjoy over the next 4-5 years. ”

“Deep, bright ruby. Tarry, licorice-laced aromas of creme de mure, hot asphalt, pipe tobacco and clove. Rich, spicy and faintly roasted on the palate, offering concentrated, ripe flavors of fresh blackberry and cassis. Quite round and supple, even silky in texture. Finishes with fine, sweet tannins and a clinging rip cassis flavor.”
