Epsilon Tempranillo 2006

James Halliday

Very good crimson; has much more structure and texture than most tempranillos, with spicy/savoury nauances to the deep well of dark fruits; good tannins.

The 2006 Tempranillo shows a deep thick re/purple colour with a nose offering dark red cherry and herbal flavours.  The palate is full-on with plenty of varietal fruit characters together with spicy wild strawberry , plummy flavours, and is full-bodied wine with nicely interwoven tannis but the fruit, which has presence on the palate, makes you sit up and take note.  This is one of the best Australian Tempranillos I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking and a wine I highly recommend to you.
